Oh, my god. That was like looking at my sophomore/junior years of high school, come back to haunt me! (Dude, I had the Nick Rhodes hair, and the fedora, and the cotton blazer with the sleeves rolled up, and and and !!!)

Wow. Heh. I should show this to Matthew and Justin later. "Look, I really WAS a fan, way back in the mid-80's." *g*

Haha. I think my DD glory days were actually a bit earlier, like, 7th and 8th grade? (Which makes sense, I'm 3 yrs younger. Duh!) No fedora for me! I was still stuck wearing my big brother's hand-me-downs. lol. But I diligently recorded every Top 40 hit of theirs off of the radio with my little boom box and sat waiting for replays of Rio to come on MTV. *happy sigh* I can't even imagine the fanfic I would've been writing had I known the first thing about slash back then. :D

oh wow, that takes me back. (altho my sister was the durannie in the family.) coincidentally i heard union of the snake on the radio today. there may or may not have been chair boogie.

If hard-pressed, I might've put Wham slightly ahead of them in my Swooning-Over-Boys-In-Tiger-Beat pantheon (and nothing could surpass my pre-teen perving on David Lee Roth), but DD were definitely my boys for a long, long time. Union of the Snake! SO MUCH LOVE!

DURAN DURAN! Be still my pre-teen heart, for real. My first fandom! I loved Roger - the quiet, shy, hot one. And John. Oh, and sometimes Simon. EEEE!

Me and my two friends who fangirled them with me in middle school got together and saw them in concert a few years ago, and made absolute FOOLS out of ourselves. It was amazing.

And now I must watch the vid. :D

Isn't it terrible, I didn't even know they were still touring. Where can I get me my own private jet so I can go wing my way to wherever they are???

Remind me to show you a picture of my husband from when he was a sophomore in high school (way before I knew him). He had this bleached-blond, John-Taylor/FlockofSeagulls-long-bangs-over-the-face thing going on. SO MUCH LOLs.

The first concert i ever went to, I think I was 12 or something. LOVED them. I just smiled the entire way through that video. Thanks! (And Simon was my fav lol)
