It's likely this is a sign I'm getting old...

But when I'm quickly scrolling through my flist or my Twitter feed, I frequently mix up the acronyms OWS and OTW.

It's made for some puzzling reading the past few days.

dork, all politics is loco

Do you think it's because we're awesome? I think it's because we're awesome.

I keep wondering why LJ people are in the running for Occupy Wall Street leadership positions. Also, how cops are burning books on the AO3 when it's all virtual. VERY CONFUSING.

it took me ten minutes to figure out what ows stands for. and this is right after i read an article about joseph gordon-levitt being in new york yesterday randomly shooting footage and talking to people in zuccotti park. >.< it is clearly a day of dumb out here.

HAHA. I feel like every single time I see one acronym or the other, I have to take half-a-second and consider, "Which one are we talking about now?"

Actually, seeing someone post about JGL is a little bit like that. I have to think hard about which actor that refers to. *G*

Well I only just found out what OTW stood for this week so haven't had time to get too confused. Still, I'm confused about just about everything else so that's ok.

Haha! You're probably better off!!!

OWS = Occupy Wall Street (the mass protest in Manhattan's Zuccotti Park that has spread elsewhere)

OTW = Organization for Transformative Works (fannish project for archiving and preserving fanworks-- the ones who maintain Fanlore and the AO3, Archive of Our Own)

About both of which there has been a TON of debate and discussion on my flist lately. :D
