right there with you on the gods. i was all "non-western pantheon! powerful gods who can kick ass and take names! rekha sharma!" ("the elephant in the room. not you." *snicker*) and then i was all "and lucifer is still the strongest by a massive margin, hmph". after kali had that great "you westerners are all so arrogant" speech, even. yeah, i too was disappoint. altho kali didn't get killed....
sam's face when she suggested just breaking his ribs - instead of squeegeeing - squeegeeing! heee - was adorable. but yeah, could've had a more dynamic sam. i like dynamic!sam.
*takes a moment*
i never saw the stand but matt frewer makes an EXCELLENT pestilence. i squeed. ok, after i got over THE DISGUSTING, i mean, seriously, show, EWW.
Also, "she was all hands"! There were SO many cool in-jokes/references to be made along those lines. I loved them and wanted MORE. :D
I loved the "all so arrogant" speech, I just wish she'd been directed to go with more of the disdainful-you're all worms, less with the tearing-up-so-sincere. We can only hope Kali returns next season with the Fire Arms and the sexy, Darth-Vaderish asskicking!
Dynamic Sam, yes please! I know I'm stupidly biased, tho. I'd eat it up if they made Sam the focus in EVERY scene (and in the Ghostfacers commercials, too). :P
The Stand! I must've read it a million times in my misspent youth! (the miniseries was just a'ight. But FREWER! Woot!)
Dean looked awesome without any product in his hair, though.
There. Fixed that for ya. ;)
Some episodes are homeruns, and in some episodes the pitch is a big, fat tater over the plate and they whiff. I think, in the end, I'm calling this a ground-rule double.
That whole last scene was pure 100% SPN-STYLE GROSS-OUT CREEPER AWESOME. (Well, 99% awesome. The CGI flies made me giggle a little, which I don't think was their intention. But true to their Bugs roots! *g*)
I thought it was a surprisingly DEAN-light episode too. I mean, more of him than Sam, but looking back it feels like it was a lot of the supporting characters getting the action and less Winchesters doing much.
And, yeah. Three-legged puppy with the best of intentions.
That's a good thing for JP and JA, a little break in that week's filming. Also, given that the supporting characters getting the time were Lucifer, Gabriel, and Kali? YES PLEASE THANK YOU.
