I didn't have time to watch AI up until now, but one of my best friends and I are AI partners from way back in S2 and she would never forgive me if I skipped the season altogether and left her without someone to Monday morning quarterback with.

I like the new judge there a lot! I can't remember if she did anything tonight, but just being there, and balancing it out and not having Paula represent the sole feminine judge role (because she can get a wee bit "everyone's a special snowflake" at times) is great.

Lil will grow on you. Oh, yes she will. No more meh for you after you hear her do her thing!

Oh, well. Maybe she'll grow on me. I just felt like she didn't add a single unique or insightful comment. She was Randy-lite! (But perhaps this was because she mostly went last among the judges-- and Paula went first a lot-- which didn't leave her much time to add anything.)

And sure, I'm ready to give Lil a chance! It was interesting coming in mid-stream like this, where it seemed like some of the judges' comments had a basis in prior reputation/potential as much as last night's particular performance (which I think it was for many of the girls. Allison? Megan? I wasn't feelin' it, dawg.).

I also can't wait to start cluing in on the backstories, because that's often a huge hook for me in who I choose to root for. :)

See, I am eternally grateful to the new judge because having her there shortens the amount of time Paula gets to speak. *tries to locate a coherent sentence amongst the weepy ramblings*

Ahaha. See, I'm fortunate, in that I don't expect coherency from Paula, but view her as more of a sideshow oddity! I do wish they'd stop letting Paula be the first person to speak tho, because then she seems PARTICULARLY clueless and out of control. The order should always be Randy, Paula, Simon... as god intended it. ;D

DANNY! I just found out today his wife passed away right before the season started. HOW HORRIBLE. Poor boy. :(

I like PYT guy a lot. He and his beffie both auditioned and would like watch each other's performances for moral support, so I was all \o/! I hate Adam, I'll be honest. His voice annoys the ever living shit out of me. And I think it's quite flat. And to quote my mom, "He looks like a gay vampire!".

What's interesting to me is that Adam seems to have quite a "Broadway" sound to him, which the judges usually piss on. Why he's the exception to that rule, I have no idea.

But yes! I'm thinking about jumping on board the Danny train. Woo Woo!

I think he's very "broadway" as well. Which I personally don't enjoy. His voice sounds toneless to me. It doesn't dip very low, either and I kind of hate high male voices. Sorry for ranting!

Please do! He has an adorable slim Black man for a beffie! They are totally gay together.
