To BB or not to BB, that is the question...

Since I can neither write 20K words nor draw stickfigures even as competently as Sam Winchester, but yet have a yearning to participate in the glory that is spn_j2_bigbang this year, I was pondering the notion of signing up as an artist to make a vid(let ( Read more... )

You are biased, woman! I suspect you're just looking for warm bodies in the artist sign-ups. *eyes you*

I can only speak as I would see it, as a writer - I got lovely art that I LOVED last year for sure -but I would not have minded at all a vid, be it ten minutes or ten seconds. I think vidding is a different skill and I would have appreciated said accordingly, esp if it were from someone as awesome as you.

While I prefer fic to art, I'd always prefer a vid to a picture. Don't know if that helps?

I've always loved stories that have had vid accompaniments, like say stories that use the idea of a trailer. I remember watching the trailer for Kashmir1's Big Bang After the Tone and being totally psyched for the fic cuz the trailer was just so amazing.

But anyway if I were doing a Big Bang I would so love someone with vid skills to do a one or two minute trailer.

i didn't even know vids counted as art for bigbang! cool. i can say that if i was an author and you ended up with my prompt, i'd be all asquee to get a vid from you.... and there's no guarantee that someone will get art they like anyway. (like, i'd rather get drawn art instead of digital manips or something. f'rex.) do deadlines normally give you hives? are you confident in your ability to make a good one-minute vid? if the deadline won't make your brain seize up and you'll be fine with a vidlet, i say go for it. how many people get vids for their fic? y'know?

AHAHAHAA. You're kidding, right? I'm completely UNconfident. I'm at the very opposite end of the scale from confident. Every time I make anything! But I haven't let that stop me posting vids yet. *pops heartburn pills*

i think you should do it. it would be a one minute trailer! which, honestly, i think are really cool. i mean, if movies and tv shows can have trailers, why can't fic?

so in conclusion, yes. :D
