I was standing around chatting with two other moms at the pool today while the kids played and we were discussing summer movies. The one mom declares that her boys (7 and 10) are not going to The Simpsons movie because it's inappropriate. I'm nodding in partial agreement (my kids don't typically get to see PG13 films either, even though they've ( Read more... )

Your restraint in not throttling her is amazing.

I thought about keying her car in the parking lot, but I held myself back.

I would have been hard pressed not to haul off and pop the lady a good one.

FUCK. >.<

I wholly approve of your passive-aggressive method, however. Bravo, dahling.

What kills me is that my other friend who was in on the conversation just stood there and did that odd, uncomfortable-but-tacitly-ageeing laugh at the story. Dude. I just can't let people get away with that stuff, even if I don't come at them in their face.

Oh dear lord. I HATE people like that. And talk about stereotypes. I mean, fashion and decorating...ok, I have a couple friends who really fit that stereotype. But I have those who really, really don't.

Jeezus! Ummm ... see ... these kind of people, they amuse me as much as they annoy me, because they're just so damn ignorant that if I didn't laugh, I'd probably crack a chair over their heads. God, I'm so sorry for their kids. Ugh.

That's not weird. I don't actually know all that many inarticulate homophobic people. Sophistication doesn't seem to stamp out prejudice as much as we'd like it to. Know what I mean?

Yeah, definitely. But in my silly little head I delude myself into thinking, "Well, no one I know could think that way." *sigh*

*sigh* Don't you love people like that? I kind of wish someone would say something like that around me so I could say, "Huh, that's weird, 'cause my cousins and I grew up with my uncle and his boyfriend of thirty years around all the time, and we turned out fine."

Those gay people. You never know, they could be pedophiles. Or vegans. Or something. :p

Stupid sexy Flanders.
