Wow.
Compared with Dean, Sam is really hard to buy for!!!
Someone should write a meta-post about how little we know about Sam's tastes. You know, Dean. He's got the Impala and metal bands and C-grade horror movies and M&Ms and weaponry and Jack Nicholson and you could go on and on. But what does Sam like? Casa Erotica and the laptop? Seriously.

4. Sam doesn't want to know what that strange, um, smear was he found that time. Don't ask, don't tell. *shudder*
1. You're always #1, bebe (with Sam and with me)! *SHMOOOOOPS*

Lovely list, my dear! I do enjoy #6 and #9. :)

#6. Sam's such a smooth conman when he wants to be, but I think it's so cute when he tongue-tied and fumbling (posing as the bikini inspector doctor in SW, with Sarah and with Madison). You know there's times when he wishes he really was a cool dude, instead of just playing one for the hunt. :)
(I'm concerned Sam didn't ask to drive for his birthday because he's GIVEN UP HOPE!!! Gah.)

he is kind of a cipher as regards his likes and dislikes, isn't he. did he read the da vinci code? voluntarily or under duress? we know he likes froofy coffee more than dean does, but what DOES he listen to when he's driving and dean's asleep? does he actually like salad or is that fanon? maybe the point is that he doesn't mix business with pleasure - the hunt is all he has room for in his life right now (business) and after they kill the demon he'll go back to being the kind of guy who has a favorite band and particular kinds of movies he likes and actually expresses his taste in pop culture and food and whatever (pleasure). whereas for dean, this is everything - he doesn't have any other lives or any other personas (like you could say sam had a college persona and a hunter persona), and he can mix everything together ( ... )

I wonder if they want Sam to be more of a blank slate, so we (the viewers) can project more on him, while Dean is fleshed out (so to speak, rwar) more thoroughly.

(I'm thinking that so many of Dean's pleasures are supposed to baser in nature--drinking, pool one-night stands, and we see Sam sort of rejecting these things because he's supposd to be more thoughtful, although he's certainly not above them at times. Dean is also the type of person who would be more vocal about what he likes.
We also see Dean interacting with the locals and embracing parts of the hunter's life, and maybe Sam rejecting those things in contrast to Dean is Sam's last rebellion? I have no idea! lol.)

Yeah. However, the scene in "Playthings" when he gets wasted in the hotel room alone always seemed so OOC to me, just because we had never seen the Sam-as-hedonist and/or -escapist before.

(This list and your comments sort of make me want to sit down and go through each episode carefully drooling over Sam from geek boy cuteness to ManBeast hot scrutinizing Sam for what he likes and dislikes. ZOMG. I don't have time for that. maybe over the summer

(Um.... scrutinizing means what I think it means, right? *checks handy Handbook of Kinks*)

(YIS...I also plan on performing MANY a test and experiment on Sam's likes and dislikes as well. What? It is all for the good of FANDOM! There is NO personal motive at all! *looks innocent and younglike*)
