I was in a meeting in a bar, and I was getting text updates on Mahut/Izner from Mr FB and I refused to turn my phone off.

I'm now watching a recoding of it. Bloody amazing!

I'm watching the Nadal match at the moment, and am confused by the fact that Nadal *isn't* walking all over the other guy. It's only the second round, what the hell is going on?

Although after the Isner-Mahut match, anything else seems a bit tame and pedestrian!

Watching the crowd is fantastic on the I/M match. They clearly don't want either guy to lose.

Can I just say that I love the fact that you were "in a meeting in a bar". Wish I could take meetings like that.

Oh, and yes, the match was completely bonkers. 3 days? Off the rails insane.

I don't usually watch much of the first week of Wimbledon but it has been really interesting so far ... like you said, Federer struggling in the first game, Nadal not having an easy time (5th set! can you believe it!!?) and then that epic Isner - Mahut game! They both deserved to win after that, although you could see Isner was a bit annoyed at the game ending last night. Seems sport all round is being a bit odd - Italy out of the World cup already!!?

I was at the Men's final of Wimbledon last year, sitting on Henman hill watching on the big screen ... brilliant atmosphere, and I got interviewed by a local radio station (eek! I said I wanted Federer to win so that he could get the record for most grand slam wins) Would love to be there again this year but can't afford it :(

Oooh, lucky you! I've never actually been to Wimbledon, but I always try to watch as much as I can on tv. Trouble is it always coincides with month end at work, so while I would *love* to just book the entire second week off work and just watch tennis all week, I usually have to make do with one or two afternoons off when Murray plays :(

I was hoping to maybe write some fic tonight, or maybe read a bit. Nadal going to five sets seems to have put paid to that...

It's definitely a good experience - I'd like to go during the first week when there's more going on ... on finals day there was only centre courts and courts 1 and 2 hosting matches.

Having time off is a bit of a sore point for me at the moment. We're fairly quiet but have a number of people off sick so I've been busy covering their work. On Wednesday, those that wanted to were allowed to go home early and watch the England match, but when I asked if I could go home early to watch Andy Murray I was told no! Now how is that fair?!

Oh, that is ridiculous! They can't say one thing for the football and then treat the tennis differently, bastards! That's just a horrible double-standard.

Our office was nearly empty on Wednesday afternoon, most of them went home to watch the football. There were no arguments today when I came in in the morning and asked for the afternoon off, but I think it's next week when I'm going to have the real trouble getting time off. I certainly won't be able to have entire days, but might try to wangle the afternoons when Murray is playing.

It's completely amazing, isn't it? I had to miss the end of the Nadal match cos of dinner, but did manage to see the end of the Isner/Mahut match earlier (I've got the whole week off this week - are you jealous? *eg*) - I'd say it was epic, but even epic doesn't really describe it!

I haven't seen a replay of that final point yet though - I'm waiting for the highlights show in a bit where they'll definitely show it!

you have the week off? I may hate you a little bit *glares*. Okay, not really, but I am horribly jealous. I can never have the Wimbledon week off because it's busy month end at work (actually, it's financial half year end as well, which is even worse).

The Murray match was the only one which seemed at all sensible today. I was stunned by Nadal having to go to five sets in the second round.
