I saw Riverdance in Dublin three years ago. Fantastic stuff, even if we had got standing tickets and were squeezed in a tiny box with a couple who were disinclined to give the four of us any room..

That must have been a real experience, seeing it in Dublin.

I was worried that we wouldn't get decent seats because I left it a bit late to get the tickets, but it wasn't too bad. We were up on the second tier, so a bit far away from the stage, but we could look down on the stage and really see the formations well from above.

It was a small theatre so it was all very intimate but there was definitely something special about seeing it in Dublin. It was the weekend before I had to attend a tribunal about whether I was going to be kicked out of my job and Mr S came home on the Friday night with tickets for Dublin. It made the weekend something rather special and seeing Riverdance just added to a great surprise.

Mind you, I think the kids liked the Dracula exhibition best...

Ooh, I've seen Riverdance and Lord of the Dance on TV, but never live. I always get a shiver just watching it on screen, so it must be awesome to see it in the flesh, as it were!

Awesome is definitely the word I would use. No matter how individually good the lead dancers are, there is something really special about seeing an entire stage full of people dancing in complete formation, all precisely in step with each other to the second. *That's* why I love Riverdance so much, because in many ways it's about the entire team rather than just the lead dancer, which Lord of the Dance could be accused of.

Sounds great! Remind me to do my Riverdance impersonation for you when I see you. It got me into trouble at work *bg*.

LOL! When I told them at work that I was going to see it a couple of them started trying to do a dance in the office, until they remembered that the auditors were in the meeting room directly below!

Lord of the Dance is touring again this year, and I'm pondering whether to go to that again. I wasn't as impressed with Lord of the Dance as I was with Riverdance, though. I think when I saw Lord of the Dance, the 'bad guy' had more charisma and stage presence than the lead 'Lord of the Dance' himself!

Oddly enough, a workmate of mine and her sister are off to see it tomorrow :-)Her bloke, who also works at our place, is going golfing with his mates instead.

It's been going for what must be over fifteen years now, and it still gets sold out everywhere in the country. But I have to admit, there was a high proportin of females in the audience, I think. Maybe it's not so much a bloke thing.
