Possibly I was having a moment of madness, but I have decided to sign up for ljbookbingo this year. I have no illusions that I will get a blackout, but I think I'm mostly hoping it will encourage me to read more, and to read more widely than just crime novels and popular science non-fiction, which was apparently the theme for last year.

It's funny, as soon as I started thinking about doing this, I started absently scanning along my bookshelves and making a mental list of books that would work for loads of different letters. And then getting annoyed when I realised there were at least two books each starting with A and O that I want to read this year. The free squares will definitely be useful.

It was one of those books that I picked up on Saturday morning, and had finished it by Saturday evening. So definitely a good one to get the year off to a great start.

It should be an interesting year of reading with this challenge.

I'm already making a list of books I want to read this year that will fill bingo squares, so it's already spurring me on to more reading.
