Book bingo reviews 4 and 5

I'm back, hopefully a bit more regularly now I'm getting used to the no-longer-very-new tablet! (Still stuggling a bit with copying and pasting, which is making a lot of html very difficult, because to be honest my usual method of posting lj posts is to copy and paste the relevant html from a previous post. Actually having to manually type it out ( Read more... )

Yay to reading even if it's not as much as you want. The year isn't over yet *g*

I know what you mean about Eleanor, I enjoyed reading it but I probably wouldn't read it again.

I felt a bit guilty about not loving the Eleanor Oliphant book after how much my friend from writers' club had raved about it. It was definitely good, but yeah, wouldn't read it a second time through choice.

I'm currently reading the book that goes with the recent BBC series about the planets. Enjoying this one very much! I definitely seem to be having a year of reading non-fiction rather than novels this year.

That's awesome that you had such a lovely weekend with friends. Those books sound a bit heavy but interesting. I hope your week is going well!

I really enjoyed the Six Degrees book, because I'm a bit of a geek for popular science books, but if even half the things he predicts come true it's really quite scary.

Back to work now, but at least it's nearly the weekend :-)

We never did see your tablet! I am sad. Did you crack the cut and paste?
These sound fascinating books, definitely a scary climate change one...
I think I've been reading Day of the Jackal for a year now, lol!! Not going to make my target either, oops!

Nope, still not sorted the copy and paste :-(

I just finished another book the other day. After we went to the space centre I was in the mood for more space science, so started reading the big glossy book that goes with the recent BBC big glossy series The Planets with Brian Cox. It was very good. Still probably not going to get to 40 books. At this rate I might not even get to 25 to fill the bingo card :-(

Congrats on two more books. I am so far behind it's not even funny.

I keep telling myself that there are still four months to go, so I *could* still do it, but realistically it's looking increasingly unlikely.

I am going to try... I just can't get into anything at the moment.

Glad you had a lovely weekend too! (Forgot to mention that earlier!)
