Book Bingo Reviews

Oct 25, 2018 19:40

I have another bingo! Four corners and the centre square, to be exact.

I'm now up to 28 books read in total this year ( 2018 reading list), and only need to fill another 6 squares on the bingo to get a blackout. But with only two months left I might be cutting it fine! Meep!

But anyway, on with the latest book reviews.

Wow Wolf brother sounds good. I think it's something I would enjoy. I think my hubby would like it too.

I promise not to tell Viv! LOL

Congrats on the 4-corners-and-the-middle! I don't even have a line yet. 14 books in and no line!

I've always had an interest in prehistoric Europe, it was kind of my specialist area when I was studying archaeology at university, although I have to admit the Mesolithic wasn't my favourite time period. I knew enough about it, though, to be able to tell that she had *really* done her research, which is always nice. I really enjoyed the setting of the book, it felt *right*, and made a nice change from fiction set in a generic fantasy made-up world.

LOl I felt like that reading A Discovery of Witches. Although it was fairly 'lightweight' fiction you could tell she'd researched the realistic parts of it.

Book bingo is certainly prompting me to read several books that I probably wouldn't have done otherwise, or that have been on my to-read pile for a long, long time, so it's been good for that, at least!

Wolf Brother sounds very interesting. I might have to look into it.

I am very impressed that you write poetry. I have never really written any outside of school assignments.

Congrats on another bingo!

Wolf Brother was a very good book. As I said, a bit tropish in terms of storyline, but it was the setting that really sold it to me.

Well, I *try* to write poetry. It's not usually very good, lol! :-)

Lol! I did think there might be a few of the Denial gang who might enjoy Strain, especially with all those big macho soldiers... ;-)

I know I am late to this post and so behind... I apologize!

Great job on the bingo and the amount of books you've read!

Sometimes books like the Strain are what we need... brain candy. Not really good for us but fun nonetheless. :D

No probs, it's not like the post is going anywhere! :-)

Yes, I've read a lot of non-fiction for book bingo, so sometimes a bit of lightweight no-brain fiction makes a nice change.
