I agree with you: I thought this was one of the best, if not the best, episode.

I almost gave up on this series, having repetitive and predictable storylines IMO. Although I'm a hurt/comfort addict, the fact that Jason got wounded or unconscious/was asleep, with Hercules and Pythagoras talking about him every episode was a bit ridiculous.

But this ep makes me want to keep watching and find out what happens next.

The show has definitely improved a lot! And LOL, that reminded me of Smallville (Lex Luther used to be knocked unconscious almost in every episode of the first season).

It's definitely got better and better in series 2, and is a complete step up from series 1.

I do wonder how much longer they can keep Jason from finding out the truth about Pasiphae, especially after episode 2.6 that we've just had tonight, but it hasn't been *too* contrived yet, Of course, the longer it goes on being a secret, the harder it's going to be to keep finding plausible ways to keep it from him. It's the same old problem they had on Merlin - how many times can Arthur be unconscious/looking the other way/distracted by fighting someone when Merlin does his magic and saves the day?

It was probably the best episode, but unfortunately I was too upset about Dion being dead/not-dead/dead-again to enjoy it fully. His death had the same terrible vibes as Ryan's death in Primeval (he too was handsome and competent and I so wanted him to stay for much longer ( ... )

I agree with all your comments.

I too don't think Ariadne will die, but it is to see where Medea's loyalty lies.

Aww, Herc and Pyth! They're great together and I'm so glad they're beyond the stage of the Three Stooges.

"I'm so glad they're beyond the stage of the Three Stooges."
Totally agree, it works much better this way ^_^

The relationship between all the boys, but especially Hercules and Pythagoras, is very much more sensible and mature this year than it was in series 1. And it's working so much better for that.

The humour is still there, and I'm glad about that because this show *needs* the humour, but even the humour and jokes are more mature, which is a good thing.

I'm still worried that the way the plot is heading this series, though, the boys are going to have a major bust up and all fall out with other in a really, really, serious way. Meep!

A totally OT comment: did you see Colin Morgan in series 2 of The Fall on BBC2? Not a huge rule, but a very good one.

Yes, I recorded the entire series of The Fall and watched them all last night. Colin was excellent, and it was nice to see him on TV again, and especially nice to hear him using his real Irish accent (which is very lovely and sexy!).

Sorry I am so very late! What a good episode, Dion-zombie-death aside.
Hercules and Pythagoras were awesome :D So funny to go over those cracking lines again!

Poor Dion, he really didn't deserve that.

Hercules and Pythagoras continue to be my favourite thing about this show (which is probably obvious from my review posts, really). There may be rather less hugging this series than there was in series 1, but with the new slightly more serious tone they're pitching it spot on.
