Okay, so I know the obvious (and popular) slash pairing in this fandom is undoubtedly Jason/Pythagoras, but I have to admit, I am actually *far* more fascinated by Hercules and Pythagoras and their onscreen relationship dynamic; that old married couple vibe they’ve got going on. So I decided to write a bit of backstory of their lives before Jason

I know this probably won't garner half as many comments as a Jason/Pythagoras fic but it's a really satisfying read. A lovely weaving of canon with imagined back story. There's such a sense of history between Hercules and Pythagoras - of knowing each other's faults and virtues, the affection and the exasperation. Adored all the little domestic details. it felt real. Plus there's all the lovely angsty family baggage that Pyrhagoras carries about that the show somehow forgot about.
Also like the way you kept a physical attraction but turned it into the ease of companionship.
Lovely fic. :)

Funny you should say that, because all the time I was writing this I kept joking with Clea and Celeste that it would probably only get about three comments, because it's mostly gen and because it's not got Jason in it. There are currently two comments over on AO3, and you are now officially the third, lol!
I almost don't care, though, because I *really* enjoyed writing this one. I'm glad you think the backstory and relationship worked. I worried for a while that it was getting a bit *too* soppy and fluffy, so I threw in a few more scenes with them arguing and bickering and not always being perfect friends. I think the balance worked. And more Pythagoras backstory angst is always a good thing *evil grin*

This is a brilliant story! I absolutely loved reading about how they met, and gorgeous young Pythagoras.
“Look, no harm done eh? And obviously it’s easy to see why anyone would find me irresistible.”
Aw, bless him. He is perfect. I'm glad he made Pythagoras feel more comfortable again.
Great to read about the highs and the lows of their life together. Awesome stuff.

Young Pythagoras was sort of adorable, bless him. All young and naive and enthusiastic *pets mini!Pythagoras* And he totally brings out Hercules' protective instincts, even if Hercules doesn't want to admit it.
Glad you enjoyed it :-)

I love these two, though. I sometimes think I could be quite happy if they got rid of Jason and had the Hercules and Pythagoras spin off comedy sitcom, lol!

I have loved it to pieces, honestly *kudos*

It ended up being way longer than I had expected it to be, but I really enjoyed writing it because I just adore the on-screen relationship bewteen these two. Plus, writing Hercules' pov is surprisingly fun!
Hope you enjoyed your Atlantis catch-up wit all this lot! And thanks for taking the time to comment on everything. :-)

And the fic didn't feel long at all because I was enjoying it deeply (I could have read much more words of this, I can tell you that).
There is still some catch-up to do, this is not over! ^_^
