He definitely would be eager to get to be a part of a family tradition, especially since we know that his own childhood lacked such traditions. I think he'd also see this task as a way to prove himself to Sharon and to Andrea.
Thank you for reading, I'm glad that you enjoyed this little slice of domestic bliss. :)

I love that sort of pervading sense of comfort and understanding and OPENNESS that exists between them, and that they address their fears in an honest way, because they are realistic and understandable fears to have. :)

Awww, thank you so much.
I love so much of the dialogue about fear, both between Sharon and Rusty and between Andrea and Rusty
I really enjoy writing moments like this between the three of them. Moments where they all realize, 'hey, it's okay to be vulnerable around these people' it's really gratifying for me. :)
Thank you so much for reading this and for your very thoughtful review.

Thank YOU for continuing to read. Fanfic is like therapy for me; I find it enjoyable and relaxing and fun and it helps to detract from my insanely busy and stressful RL. It's nice to disappear into a whole other world with a group of characters for a little while, and it's especially nice to 'fix' or address issues in fic that I or those around me are up against in RL and to see through a resolution and happy ending.
I have a partner, who I'm lucky and grateful to be able to grow with and through, and I have a 7-year old friend who I've decided to support for as long as she wants me in her life. The day in, day out exchanges with my partner are what foster my personal growth and healing, even more than a weekly therapy session can (although, that is important too.)
Aww, that's wonderful. :)
Thanks for not being afraid to give ( ... )
