Inara had been trying to nap herself, but the pressure on her chest has been keeping her awake. She's been laying in bed, thinking. Simon had stopped by earlier to check on her, and they'd talked for a long time. He'd gently suggested that it might be time to talk to Mal.
She lays there for another few minutes, still wrestling the idea in her head. Finally, she gets up and slowly makes her way out and down to the engine room, an educated guess leading her feet to the engine room.
Mal sits up, leading Inara by the hand down the stairs into the engine room and ending with his legs swinging on either side of Inara's own, standing in front of him.
"Nothing wrong with you feeling up to moving about then," Mal replies awkwardly. "I'll just have to strap you down if you wear yourself out any."
