This is a cool little piece. It's like a look at what's holding John together in those early days--doing what Mary would have wanted, and what the boys needed. Nothing really for himself, but that's okay.

I really like John's character. He is selfish, but in a selfless sort of way. He thinks everything he is doing is for everyone else, but it gradually changed over the years and now it's more about him. I'm really enjoying doing the fanfic100 for him.
