3 Ficlets: Crash and Burn; Unbreakable; Hopeless

These three are sort of linked, in that they were all written at the same time as mini character studies of the Winchesters and all have the same sort of depressing feel about them, which I blame entirely on the fact that I am in the middle of exams and was revising literature of the First World War. That was a fun weekend!

Nicely done. :) My favorite is the Dean one. I love how you described the different ways Sam and John fall apart.

Favorite line:

He remains steady, unbreakable - because he cannot be anything else.

Yup, that's Dean, always trying to be rock steady so he can keep everyone else whole.

I think I like the Dean one best as well, that one worked out better on paper than it did in my head - it's usually the other way round.

Thanks for reviewing! Glad you liked it.

i too am partial to the dean snippet. it's very him, always trying to put things back together or keep them in one piece, so he can't fall apart himself.

I'm happy with the way that one turned out, I wanted to show that Dean doesn't see himself as important enough to deserve the time to fall apart, and I hope that's what I achieved.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Yeah, that was the exam. Thanks for the good luck. I presume you sat it as well, seeing as you saw the paper. So hope you did well in that and any other papers you sit/sat. I know it took me a while to get round to this, but revision takes up more time than it should.

Thanks for the review. And no worries about the writing thing, I can't seem to stop for this fandom, and now I've got all this lovely free time. ^_^

Thank you!

These are lovely, especially the Dean one. Oh, Dean! He's like in Mark Strand's poem, "mov[ing] to keep things whole." *sigh*
