It's funny though... I posted it here because I still feel weird, and I need people to tell me that I'm not being a raging asshole. She was doing a really good job of intimating that I was the bad guy in out interaction. So thanks.

Also... Yeah, I was never much of a blogger, but I do lurk. A friend is beating a 10k white collar fic I did... So it might be up soon.

Even if it it turned out that this woman *was* just there visiting her daughter, you still did the right thing. And she was being the asshole.

I'm sad to say that I probably would've just let her in to get her out of my face :( But I'm a terrible person.

My building actually has a pretty good culture around showing keys if someone holds the door for you that you don't recognize. That makes it a little easier to insist that visitors stay on the outside, because everytime someone shows you their key (without being asked) when you hold the door, they are saying to you 'I care about who you let in here'.
