They're airing Merlin in the states now.... I honestly have no idea how I feel about this.

Merlin is the BBC's most recent fangirly hit. It's Merlin as a young man (early to mid twenties?) helping out/is a servant to Arthur as a young man, whose father Uther (Anthony Head) has outlawed magic of all kinds and keeps the last dragon ever (voiced by William Hurt) in a cavern under his castle as an example to all the other magicals in his kingdom. Guinevere (who is black...not that I mind black people on tv, but....Guinevere?) and Morgan (Uther's charge since he promised her dad just before he died. Not to mention he pervs all over her) are roommates. I've only seen one episode, and that's when we first see Mordrid, a nine-to-twelve year old (it was kind of hard to tell, but don't forget that Arthur is somewhere in his early/mid twenties) druid kid fleeing from Uther's guard. It is not even remotely accurate to even the wildest versions of the myth and is super cracktastic.

I'm not the least surprised they're playing fast and loose with the legend (I take that as a given these days with TV). Is it on BBC America? I'll have to give it a glance (though it may work for me as poorly as their current Robin Hood series does).

It's probably been on BBCAmerica but I am referring to a big American network. I just can't remember which one. And yeah, if you don't like the Robin Hood I doubt you'd like this. But who knows. Like I said, it's very cracky.
