I...hrm....well....I like it, but I honestly just can't decide if it will get you shot or not. I guess the true test is to just play it and see :)

ok, I'll be the one who takes this too seriously--
it's a really fun idea, I think if you actually chopped up Thorns so that the beat changed as the verse/chorus of the vocals changed, it would have a lot more punch, though...
