Yeah, that's the division I've come to as well. Xanga for random updates about stuff I did, LJ for writing about more serious topics.

Have you read "Holy Blood Holy Grail"? It's essentially the "nonfiction" book that Dan Brown ripped the Da Vinci Code storyline from. It's supposedly backed up by real research into the creation and destruction of the Templars, the Masonic Order, and, yes, the Priory of Sion.

As a book it's really great reading. Unfortunately it has been so controversial in the realm of strict history... I've read so many papers essentially disproving all of its conclusions. For example, the 'Dossiers Secrets' that the authors use as their main source was apparently a very, very convincing forgery. The guy who "invented" the Priory of Sion even came forth and claimed credit for it. Still, if you're into all of the historeligious conspiracy theories, especially about the Templars (I found that part the most interesting, as well as the parts regarding the Council of Nicae), then you'll probably like that book.

Haven't read it yet - it's on my tertiary reading list. Eventually I'll remember it when I'm in a good used book store - this is effectively what happened with Foucault's Pendulum.
