The other day, after raining in the morning, the sky cleared up dramatically and I could see that the western horizon would be almost completely clear.
Hmm ... what kind of Buddhist podcasts? That sounds interesting! I'm doing well, still teaching at university here in Korea and having a grand time, though I've been missing the States a bunch lately. How've you been! Get married to Kirill yet?? ;)
I be good! Busy with school and stuff as usual but good! And DAMN even my own father asked me if Kirill and I have plans to get married!! AAHHHH!!! He graduates in less than a month and then we're all set to move into a place together. Yea! Then we'll see about another step :-)
So...the podcasts are lectures recorded from various centers. They're very enlightening...not to be cliche :-D It'd be cool to visit the Providence Zen Center some time. There's another center that has a childrens' program every Sunday. Kirill and I might drag his little sister there. I feel like I need more of a spiritual foundation, and Buddhism just feels right, though I still don't know enough about it I'm sure.
cool man, i'm glad you're following your heart and seeking what you need. ironically here, in the land of native Buddhism, it's hard to find communities to practice in - everything's in Korean of course, and Buddhism is kind of an "old woman thing" according to everyone I've talked to. It's not a liberal crunchy thing like it is in the States. The PZC is pretty cool, they've got a night open to the community with a free dinner and meditation instruction afterwards, it used to be Wednesday nights I think, and actually they're a Korean order! So I recommend it. :) When am I coming back? Ummmm ... I dunno! At least by Xmas. I might be doing a cross-country trip LA->Boston this fall, not sure ... ;)
Congrats on you and Kirill ~ how long have you been together now? Since the Triassic period?? :-D
