Very cool Robert Hewitt Wolfe comment!

 I found the most remarkable comment by former DS9 staff writer, Robert Hewitt Wolfe.  It will really seal things for the Garak/Bashir fans reading this.  It made me squee and I don't squee all that often, so this is pretty epic in my book.  Follow this  link and check out the 2nd message on the page. It certainly is not very obvious to those who are not "attuned" to the slash context. When I first made myself sit and watch DS9, this was the episode I watched, and I MARVELLED at the connection between Bashir and Garak...it was like a little spark that has led me to write fic in a few different fandoms. (Tho I never wrote in DS9, I love reading it).

I was at the Star Trek convention in Las Vegas this year, and Andy was one of the guests. He also said something about how he purposely played Garak so that the audience could think he might be gay or bisexual or whatever, if they wanted to. I think he did mention that the character had been written that way, yes, and he just sort of put his spin on it. It was really interesting to hear him talk about it -- I just wish I could remember more of it now!
