47. the dreaded word.

I...

Oh, this is the sort of word that makes me wish Dwarfs didn't put so much faith in superstition. Because I'm bored. And now bad, but interesting, things will happen, won't they? Not just 'I've got nothing to do' bored, I suppose. Fatigued is probably the better word for it. I'm bored of waiting every month to see if a Dwarf turns up, I'm bored ( Read more... )

warden permission? what's that?, the grag in the big city, team xenophobia!, high means low and low means high, secretly a warden, ardent doesn't always shout, actually a priest, usually well-behaved, grumpy dwarf is grumpy, sveta is far too bright

If you're not up to it, you don't have to come down.

Just let me know, or I'll think you've gone missing.

That's fine! Thank you.

Have your, erm, dragon concerns been cleared up?

Not... really.

I think we've sufficiently put whoever's responsible for it off admitting it, though, by putting in such a chase after it.

Dwarven archivists seemed rather content to write matters down for posterity, in my experience... Should there be only one of you, this request shall be difficult.

The need for fighting, however, does seem to be common trait amongst you.

I do write matters down for posterity. It's what Dwarfs do. I'm not sure I actually made a request.

I didn't mean fighting in a sense of physical violence. I meant as much a metaphorical battle as anything else.

No, I'm from the Disc. But... could you tell me something?

[Now Dwarfish:] Do you understand this?

You, um... You're into drag kings?

Reply

deepdowndark April 14 2011, 17:24:08 UTC
...no. Drag kings up. Remove them from their thrones.

[pause]

By 'drag king', you mean a human woman who dresses as a man, right?

Yeeeeeah... I mean that.

Sometimes, cultural references clash, a little.

I was talking of a much more literal drag.

I suppose humans would say 'bring down', but we would say drag up. If that helps our particular clash of references.

You think your life would be better if more Dwarves were to arrive?

I think I would have something truly productive to do.
