Winston's letter was damn emotional and it does make me feel better that he cared for Marie and wanted to do right by her and I also think Danny's mom would appreciate knowing that she did mean something to "Jack."

And I can understand why Steve is so thrown by his attraction to Danny, his new found cousin--he's buried his true desires for so long that it must be difficult for him to even admit to himself that he may want more then friendship. I think it's better for Danny and Steve to get to know each other better and then Steve can set about wooing Danny :):)

And yeah: Steve is so closeted, Danny might be the first person he's told since enlisting. Ohhh, actually, I might have to include that at some point - thanks for prompting me to think about it!

You know, even if it makes the poor boys have to wait longer than they should, it would be so so adorable if the day DADT is finally gone, Steve, all unsure, goes to Danny's with flowers and tells him he wants to try & see what happens.

Oh, I like that mental image - but both the boys and I are too impatient to wait that long (repeal is 10 months away, from this point). And I already wrote a set of stories where they get together on DADT repeal day :)

Steve already does want Danny; he just feels like he can't act on it. But trust me - it'll end happily, that's all I can say!
