I am Joe's human alarm clock most days. He depends on me to do it (because I have my internal alarm clock that wakes me up before my alarm ever goes off - even if I don't have an alarm set). I hate it. But at least he has a job. :)
I like the changes that will come for your son as of Friday. Yay for pro-active parenting!!
It was really hard when our oldest was between jobs this summer...I know exactly how you feel! The only reason our son didn't go out a bunch is because we moved from TX to WI, otherwise we'd have that issue, too! I was so glad when he found a job--and will send employment ju-ju your way in hopes that your son will find a job, too. Apparently more business will be hiring in January. *fingers crossed*
yes, which almost made it worse. You feel like after 13 years of the "stay in school" mantra and then college that they would be able to make their way in the world. (Or at least that is what we tell them) I think I was just as disappointed as he was that it took so long. :( This economy has not been kind to a lot of folks, our kids nonwithstanding. But even understanding has its limits, and we wanted to see some movement in the self sustaining end of things. I keep waiting for the day when I can hang up my apron. Or at least only put it on once in a blue moon....
