If you're drawing realistically, it can be helpful to use a grid, to make sure the proportions match up. Also, on details like the nose, lips, and lower eye lids, it's good to not use much pressure. For example, in the picture you referenced Jin from, his nostrils are defined, but the tip and bridge of his nose are very light shadows/lines, not strongly defined. And if you draw a heavy line around the lips, it gives more the effect of lipstick ^^;
