Chapter 3 part 1

Kamenashi took the glass of wine and looked t it , gulping, not sure if he ca really drink it or not. Everyone looked so expectantly at him and it made him nervous. Even Ueda kept his eyes looked at him, waiting curiously. Why was he doing that anyway? Oh, Yeah. He told Akanishi he would teach him. Why did he promise something like that? He reluctantly smelled it and slivered as soon as he did so. Wine always reminded him of his mother. His mother that died when he was young, right in front of him on the family grapevine plantation, while his father was doing god knows what. He let out a sight and put his lips o the edge of the glass, slowly raising it up. The liquid made contact with his tongue and he hmm-ed a bit as he found it awfully tasty. A single sip and he took the glass away from his mouth and put it back on the table.

-   But that’s so boring; Akanishi was the first to talk after a very long stare. I’d take forever to drink it all, he continued, looking at the glass he was also holding.

Everyone chuckled when hearing that and took a sip of their own glass, repeating exactly what Kamenashi did. Ryo only nodded when he saw everyone enjoying the drinks.

-         I’m glad you are all happy; he smiled, pouring some more wine.

-         Why do you have wine anyway? This is a club, right? Ueda asked a bit confused.

Alcohol always made him feel him rather high and happy when drinking, he always got more opened and wiling to do many more things than when sober.

-         We are an open house. Program starts at six and some people wish to dine then. Starting 1- o’clock we bring indie bands such as them and, on Wednesdays, the place turns into a club as soon as the clock ticks 12.

-         Multifunctional? Ueda smirked, taking a full glass from the bar counter.

-         Very, smirked back Nishikido, handing another glass to the band’s drummer.

-         But  do you afford giving way wine like this? Kamenashi asked concerned, knowing that wine was not exactly one of the cheapest drinks on the planet.

-         Yeah, I’ll take it from him, Ryo replied pointing at Akanishi.

The singer chocked and quickly put the glass down, not wanting to break it or something.

-         Me?! Take money from me? Hell no! he startled, pouting a bit, not willing to give in.

-         Well, you practically offered.

-         Hell,  no! I don’t have money to spend on wine. I got other stuff to use money for , you know, he counted on his gingers as he named them all in his mind.

Kamenashi chuckled and took out his wallet, smiling happily at the people around him. Ryo stopped for a second as he saw the money, then looked at Akanishi, telling him that was rude of him to do but the singer didn’t respond at all.

-         I’ll pay for the whole bottle. Let’s all drink, he continued, seeing the awful stare the two were offering each other.

-         So nice of you! Akanishi beamed, close to hugging the younger one. You have a very nice friend, he then spoke to Ueda, putting an arm around his neck, getting him closer, practically whispering in his ear.

Ueda could only nod since the closeness between the two of them made him feel shy. The mood lightened up right away despite the gradually closing distance between Akanishi and Ueda. On terms of music, they could talk for hours and they actually started a discussion on the mater. They sang more, they drank some more, not just wine, deciding to keep the last of it till after their show. People started coming in and they had to be quieter than before but that didn’t ruin the atmosphere. Jin was cool behaving the moment customers got in, putting distance between him and the bunch of strangers, Ueda turned into the mood maker although at times he’d pick on Ryo. Kamenashi simply drank a bit, taking small sips from the glass, watching the others and smiling as he realized he felt happy in their presence. Ryo stopped the band from drinking, forcing them to gave coffee and lemon tea in exchange, as the time for them to play got closer. Kazuya didn’t even think about his father and the fact that he left in such a hurry without even telling him where. It was close to 9  when the band finally started singing and once again, Kazuya found himself taken by the beautiful song he had heard the other day. As he raised the glass to his lips, he felt a shiver running down his spine and looked straight at the singer who also seemed to look his way. Was it him or where their eyes meeting again? Jin could have been looking at Ueda, as far as Kamenashi could know. After all, the two became really friendly as soon as they started drinking.
Ueda sure was happy about getting closer to the singer. He seemed to really enjoy the moments when Akanishi would speak only to him, so close to his ear, like whispering. Kazuya smiled as he remembered that. If it was love, then he was really happy for his friend. Still, seeing and listening to Akanishi, he got the chills. Something about the singer made him feel weird. Made him want to get closer and yet put distance between them. Jin sang the same song as the night before and then left the stage but this time none of them went back to the backroom. All of them went straight to the bar where Ueda and Kamenashi waited and sat next to them as they did in the evening, continuing where were they left on.

-       -  I’m tired…, spoke the drummer, no longer feeling his fingers. He had moved his hands so much that even picking up the glass seemed tiring.

-        - Me too,  approved the guitarist, gulping down his beer.

-       -  Let’s leave…

-       -  I’m going to the bathroom, Akanishi suddenly announced, standing up and practically dashing to the other room.

Ryo and the rest looked at each other, and that made Kamenashi a bit suspicious. Why were they exchanging looks?
Jin ran to the bathroom and closed in on the sink, letting the water pour at a pretty high speed. He was getting dizzy. It was happening again. He had enough of it and wanted all of it too stop. He wished he would have died there, but then again he was glad he was alive. He just wanted to live without it coming back and back again. He leaned down and rested his head on the edge of the sink, taking deep breaths as he always did to calm down. He then turned the water off and started walking back. In the room, the middle one connecting the open house to the dressing room where the band would prepare, he found Ueda.

-   Are you alright? the older asked, getting closer and touching his forehead.

-   I’m fine, thanks, he whispered back, not sure he can fully open his mouth and make sense at the same time.

-   You look hot.., Ueda continued, meaning that Akanishi looked as if he had a fever.

-   Literally or is it just a figure of speech? He asked teasing, trying to ignore his tremendous headache.

-   Both, chuckled the older, sliding his hand down Jin’s cheek, caressing it.

There was silence between the two of them. Akanishi didn’t really feel like talking and Ueda sure didn’t have anything to say. He just wanted to kiss the singer and so he did. He leaned forward, pressing his lips on Jin’s but the other didn’t answer.

-         Is it bad, that I want to kiss you? he asked confused, looking at the younger one who seemed confused because of something.

-         No, not at all.

-         And I want you to kiss me back. Jin, kiss me, he slowly talked, getting closer again.

This time he didn’t have to be the first one to do it. Akanishi just pulled him closer and captured his lips, a bit too passionate. Ueda felt his lips brushed and slowly sucked, then his upper lip getting all the attention before Jin’s tongue slid right inside his mouth and started exploring it. It felt really good, so good kissing the singer but the damn cell phone had to start ringing and make it all stop.
Ueda slid his phone open and read the message, then hissed a bit, and leaned back, giving the singer another kiss, one that he got an answer too.

-         Let’s continue this some other time, Ueda smiled, feeling happy.

He had made the first important step for being closer to the singer but little didn’t he know that it meant actually nothing. Jin was different, different than anyone he had met and soon he was going to discover many things about the singer that were going to hurt him. One was going to be the reason why Akanishi’s head hurt like hell, why he easily obliged after being told to do something, and why he sometimes seemed like a living corpse.
Returning to the bar, only Kamenashi, Ueda, Ryo and the drummer were still there.

-         I have to go, announced Ueda, talking to his friend. Are you coming?

-         Let me finish this. And I’ll buy another bottle to take home. I got to tell my dad that I finally had wine..so I have to mentally prepare myself for the outcome. Actually…I’ll go alone. It might take a while; he smiled back, wondering a bit why Ueda was almost giggling.

-         Ok. Take care, Kame. Don’t let your dad slave drive you.

-         Kame? the drummer and bartender asked as soon as Tatsuya got out.

-         Nickname.

For a few moments it was quiet despite the music playing and people talking. It felt weird not having Akanishi say anything. Kamenashi looked at him and saw him kind of lost. His entire attitude was completely different, as if a new person replaced the singer. The drummer and Jin talked something, or better said the drummer said something and Jin hissed, then he stood up and left the two. It was just Akanishi and Kamenashi and the bartender, and then the rest of the customers. Kazuya finished his last glass of wine, finally, and got up, ready to leave. It was pass midnight and that meant it was dark like hell.

-         I wish I could give you a ride since it’s this late but I still have work to do, apologized Ryo, handing the boy the bottle of wine he had requested and paid for.

-         It’s ok. I’ll just call a taxi or something.

Ryo looked at Jin and made him snuggle. A sigh followed and Akanishi stood up. He got it. He had to accompany the boy home without getting into a car since he had drank. Naturally, Kazuya tried to refuse but Ryo insisted, actually asking Kamenashi to look after Jin and not the other way around. “Make him take a cab. Tell him too “ he asked the younger one.
Kamenashi nodded although he didn’t get it. Ryo could have told Akanishi the same thing but instead was asking him to do that. It was pointless to thing of it since now they were both walking next to each other on the street.

-   I can go from here on alone and you…, Kazuya started talking, turning around to look at the older one without paying attention around him.

He bumped into someone. Someone who was accompanied by two other guys and looked up to no good.

-   Dick …watch where you’re going, one of them cursed and leaning towards Akanishi despite him not being responsible for it. The singer didn’t respond or anything, just stared blankly and then started walking again, making Kazuya follow him.

-   Are you fucking ignoring me? Do you wanna fight? Come on! Fight me then! One of them shouted.

-   What did you say? Akanishi asked, turning around, looking a bit annoyed.

-   I said fight me, you son of a bitch! The other shouted again.

That was more than enough to make Jin flip. Kamenashi saw anger and hatred in Akanishi’s eyes before the older ran up to them and actually started the fight. Akanishi first punched the same one who talked to him, then his friend that tried to punch him back. Soon, they were in a very big fight and ruckus took over. In that mess and noise, Kazuya could do anything. He tried making Jin stop and almost got punched himself, then tried shouting and asking him to stop but he was kicked behind his head and fell on his knees.
Jin was acting like a beast, hitting and cursing while at it and nothing seemed to be able to stop him. The police arrived soon and pulled them apart and only then did the singer calm down. He calmed down way to much. He seemed so indifferent and unaffected by it as if he didn’t even lay a finger on the guys. He looked distant again. Before they could explain anything, they were all taken to the police station. For Kazuya’s surprise, even him. He and Jin were sited next to each other so that they could take their identification dates.

-         Drinking and fighting…youngsters…, mumbled one of the policeman, looking at Jin’s id card.

-         Kame..Kamenashi Kazuya as in…the Kamenashi…? asked another policeman, after reading Kazuya’s.

-         Yes. I can explain. It wasn’t our fault and…

-         But you are drunk..

-         We drank, it’s true. Listen, please. My dad is indeed who you think. The wine is just a gift. Today I drank wine for the first time and I wanted to show my dad what I drank that’s why I had it. Before, we celebrated a little. The others started the fight, he calmly explained, smiling.

-         And what about him? the officers asked, looking annoyed at the man who just leaned on the chair and looked passive at a painting.

-         They were picking on us and he just fought back, started Kazuya.

-         But he was the first to hit. The others said so.

-         But he was told to. Those guys told him to. Isn’t that instigation to crime?

The two policemen looked at each other and nodded. Kamenashi was right and they knew it. And they didn’t want to end up in the newspaper as the two officers who arrested the son of the famous wine critic just because he had alcohol in his system, wine with him and was present there.

-         Fine, you can go but he can’t.

-         Why not?! Kamenashi startled.

-         He got in the fight and…

-         Please. He wasn’t feeling well before either. I was supposed to take him home. The others just started it. Can’t you overlook this one? He almost begged.

He knew he was lying. He was told just to tell Akanishi to grab a cab and not take him all the way home but at things worked out, it seemed that he had too. The two police officers talked to each other and finally decided to give them all five just a warning. It was already late and they really didn’t wanted to be the cause of Kamenashi’s imprisonment, especially when he seemed willing to join Akanishi for a night in jail.
They were a bit surprised when Akanishi apologized for the disturbance and just as shocked when Kamenashi asked for his wine back. He could have bought another one, but he wanted that one. After a few other debates, they were released. It was once again quiet between Akanishi and Kamenashi.

-         Seriously now…you could have ended up in jail, Kamenashi sighed, taking out his phone in order to call for a cab.

-         I’m sorry. They just asked for it, came the excuse. The only one the younger got.

-         It’s okay now. Are you okay? he inquired, looking at the singer.

Jin didn’t look good at all. His face was almost pale and he looked really tired. A few bruises were spread over his face and just then Kazuya realized that could mean bad things for the band. As soon as the taxi arrived, he practically pushed Jin inside the car. When it stopped, he pulled him out and then waited for the key so he couldn’t unlock the door. In just a few minutes, Akanishi found himself sitting on his own bed while the younger one treated his wounds.
He was told not to move but he couldn’t do that. It still hurt. He raised his head up and looked at the younger one. Kamenashi was slowly and gently touching his face while trying to disinfect it. He looked exactly like a preoccupied mother that had to mend her reckless son. A smile crossed Jin’s face. He was still looking tired, with his hands leaning next to his body, but his face got a bit more color, not the one from the bruises, and his eyes started to look more alive. Kazuya stopped his movements as soon as he saw the smile the singer had. It was confusing. Jin was confusing.

-   Thanks, he heard Akanishi mumble, before the older reached for his hand and grabbed it.

-   What for? Kazuya asked surprised. It wasn’t all that unnatural to hear a thank you but it sounded weird coming from Akanishi.

-   For today. Teaching me how to drink wine and the police thing. And now this, he replied softly, looking at the palm of the hand he had been holding for quite a few seconds there.

-   Ah…it’s okay, Kazuya smiled, trying to take his hand away.

Jin hold it still and let his own fingers trail down the line’s of Kamenashi’s palm. It was silent. Kazuya was standing up on his feet, a few inches away from Akanishi but he suddenly felt the need to sit. Jin was touching his hand, tracing every single line on it and that almost made Kazuya shiver. It felt ticklish.

-         Can I have a bit of wine? the singer finally asked, looking up but still not letting go of the boy’s hand.

-         Wine?! Kamenashi was confused.

-         Yes…I feel like drinking a bit a wine, don’t know why. I don’t like it that much anyway. I’ll give you a CD of our songs. You like them, don’t you? And Ueda too. I’ll give some in exchange.

Kazuya smiled and almost chuckled. Once again he had the feeling Akanishi was not such of a cold and distant person. As a matter a fact, right that instant he looked almost like a baby. He simply nodded and took out the bottle, opening it and then searched for a glass. He looked only for a minute and Akanishi and ran back to the bedroom. He was still holding the bottle of wine since he reacted so fast. Jin was still sitting on the edge of the bed but his head was leaned forward so much as if he wanted to puke. The moment Kazuya got there, Jin slowly rubbed his forehead and eyes and then took a deep breath. He was okay, he was still okay.

-         Are you alright?! Kazuya asked scared, placing a hand over the older one’s forehead.

Jin only smiled a little. He wasn’t feeling okay but he wasn’t feeling bad either.

-         Wine? he whispered, looking at the bottle.

-         Huh? Oh…yeah…wine...you wanted wine…, Kazuya chuckled, thinking that maybe Jin was just behaving like a spoiled kid.

-         Do you hate wine? Akanishi asked him, bluntly, staring almost.

-         No…it’s just…something about me makes me remember bad things.

-         And does it hurt?

-         Yes. But it’s not the wine’s fault. I can’t blame it on wine and now I know. Wine is actually tasty, he smiled, not sure where Jin wanted to get at.

Kazuya wanted to stand up and moved but before he could actually do it, Akanishi pulled his hand again, making him stop and fall to the ground. Kamenashi didn’t fall to the ground though but on the edge of the bed. He gasped and stood still. Just what was Akanishi doing? He thought as he found himself in the most awkward situation ever. He would have commented something but he really couldn’t talk. Not when his mouth was being held occupied by something else. By Jin.

Next : part 2. i'll try to update some other time
A/N : the prologue is set in the present...the rest in the past.
when i will arrive back to the present i will tell. i figured i should tell so that you know that the person dead in the prologue will die later on in this story. The chapters are basically a reminiscence of the past. About Kamenashi's dad. i will keep facts from the drama...like Kame having a brother, and the inheritance and stuff... for Akanishi... Kii will be mentioned. i have to keep her. sorry.
