I'm glad you liked the card. Things here are ok. I'm going back home (140 miles round trip) every weekend to take my mom in to see my dad. Not exactly fun, but I'm happy to help them. My dad's health is slowly failing, but thank God the home is a good one! Things at work are ok for me, but the lab is extremely short staffed. We've always done some of the less routine testing for a large medical group. They got hit with ransomware that destroyed their network, so they're now sending us all their work, which doubled our workload. The techs are reaching the breaking point. The company is desperately looking for people, but the shortage is everywhere. I hope you and your family are all well. I hope the Georgia craziness I see on the news hasn't disrupted your lives!
I got your Christmas card! I didn't send cards out this year, but be expecting something for Valentine's Day. :)
I hope you all avoided the worst of the terrible weather. We didn't get any burst pipes and we didn't lose power, both of which I was very worried about.

It occurs to me that we should probably exchange email addresses. Given everything going on with Russia and Ukraine, this site might go totally kabloeey one day, and I wouldn't have a way to get in touch with you.

I'm glad the card arrived; I hope it wasn't too late. I was pretty much going through the motions and left everything until the last minute. I don't think I told you, we lost my dad in mid November. He had Parkinson's and dementia, and he'd been in a nursing home for over a year and a half. We also lost my sister to breast cancer last September. On the bright side, my niece had a baby girl in July

I haven't ever used Discord, so I don't know anything about it either. It seems kinda complicated to me. I can barely keep up with the few things I've got going on much less add something new. LOL
Thank you for the condolences. The losses have brought the rest of the family closer. Everybody chips in to look after my mother, who turned 88 last month. I'm not sure I'm doing well, exactly but it could be much worse. I'm just getting over my first run-in with Covid. I'm lucky that it just felt like a bad cold, and I should be back to work tomorrow. I realized I'd lost my sense of smell when I went to empty the cats' "diaper pail," and I wasn't knocked over by ammonia fumes! I still haven't looked into Discord. Probably never will at this rate. I'm thinking about signing up for the mpreg fest on LJ. I haven't done a cake picture in a long time, and one of the prompts reached out and grabbed me. What's new with you?
