Damned from the Get-Go

Short little drabble in response to me_challenge, prompt #6. Sacrificed eating supper so I would have time to churn it out.

Summary: It was just luck the beacon got a hold of the one of those three whom people would believe.

Damned from the Get-Go )

fan fiction, drabble, mass effect

There but for the grace of chance, hm? Interesting thought.

Always found it curious that everyone on Team Shepard faithfully puts all their chips on this wierdo beacon-vision thing that couldn't really be substantiated until Liara's mind meld.

If not Shepard, I think Ashley would have the pluck to fight the doubters, but her own name works against her. Kaidan.... Heck, would he even want to tell anybody, knowing they're just going to chalk it up to his implant wigging out? It's kind of fun to speculate.

I tried to address that, at least briefly at one point. I figure Shepard's force of personality helps, plus a side order of crush never hurts in making a person sort of sidestep thinking things through. ;)

I think what keeps it from being a plot hole is that they can frame it as the hunt for Saren until they get more evidence. The Council certainly doesn't believe Shepard, nor does Udina...

But yeah, it's a great thought exercise you have there. I agree that Kaidan would be up a creek, but I think Ash would be stubborn about it. Could be worse, what if it was Jenkins? Hehehehe.
