Their usefulness should depend on the skill of its user, not the on just the elements themselves. For they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

That would apply if the user had any skill at all. I am not a magic user.

Even non-magic user can become skillful in one or more of the elements here. If you can't decide, the spirits will surely find you and show you where your strengths are.

Are you interested in learning the magic here?

The spirits will find me you say. [He says thoughtfully, wondering what that precisely means. Do they choose who they bond with then?]

To some extent. [He has done fine without it for a long time, but gaining an understanding of the spirits that rule this land could be beneficial.]

You can seek them out yourself, but they are just as capable of finding you if they believe you are worthy of learning from them.

I do not like wasting time for the whims of such things as the choice of a spirit, which cannot even communicate with us.

[he just wants fancy magic okay :(]

[...impatient nature. Let's take some notes on Hakumen and see what element suits him.]

I've heard Sona a few times. They are quite capable of speaking with us if you allow them.

The one of water. I read these spirits have different personalities.

They do. I've only been able to speak with two and they do act differently from one another.

Some are a little more selective about letting others learn their magic.

[He groans a little. Selective. Sheesh.]

Magic here seems troublesome. So some spirits will simply not make connections with others.

Correct. I don't exactly know how they select us, but they are likely looking for something specific in a person before deciding to share their wisdom. It could be how close we are affiliated with the element already, or perhaps certain traits or characteristics they are interested in.

...Is there a particular element you wish to know or learn?

[He thinks on what Alexei says for a moment. A close affiliation...

But his thoughts are distracted by the next thing he says.]

...No. That is why I ask for opinions.

...You sound like you want to learn something quickly. Nala is the easiest to learn from. There is also Faeren and Tsinku.

The best way to really know is to go and try to contact the spirits yourself and see who will answer.

How does one go about contacting spirits? They are invisible to the eye.

You go to where their elements are their strongest and listen. Sona for example, you could probably reach near large bodies of water.

[Hm, go where they are best heard? Sounds logical.]

I see. I thank you for your assistance.
