[charles is out with the hose again, and it's not even for murder clean-up this time!  miracles.  instead, he's watering the massive amount of blue roses that have popped up around 767 bunker street; roses that technically shouldn’t exist. anyone with knowledge in horticulture would be able to tell you it’s impossible to find one not created

[you'd think he'd be used to her appearing out of the ether by now but he still looks mildly surprised and then very confused and a little concerned.

They don't really have much meat to them, you know. Especially kittens. [that and he's become attached to voltaire but he'll never admit it.]

Runty kitten immediately dives out of his usual place in his pocket and into the rose bush after grumpy kitten.

They're both black, so you could probably confuse them... If one wasn't smaller and the other didn't have that permanent scowly look on its face.]

but hey, this is the perfect opportunity to get someone else to do the work for him! the best neighbor.]

Don't just let your cat run wild. Get it out of my yard.

luckily runty kitty thinks HK is its surrogate parent thing at this point, so it's pretty obedient and comes out when he calls it. hopefully grumpy will follow his brother, even if its just to try and chew on his tail or something.]

[you know him grumpy so well.

he does indeed follow poor runty out, sort of gnawing and batting at him as he goes. charles reaches down to scoop him up, checking to make sure he hasn't gouged an eye out or anything.]

[WTF Blue roses? He knows some of the science behind it but mostly they don't see that in his flower shop. So of course he has to go take a look]

[mayfield weather sure is warm this time of year, isn't it? all of that flower viewing must leave one parched. lucky for you, charles is a great neighbor and he'd totally get you a glass of water! ...but a good hose-dousing works just as well.]

Oh, you know. I just enjoy shoving my arm into thorny bushes.

I'll be certain to keep that in mind the next time I'm overcome by the overwhelming urge to throw myself into brambles.

[there's a teeny mew and he pauses to peer down through the flowers before leaning over a bit further.]

You could have asked like a normal person. [not that he would have told her. he's not so nicely removing her from his shoulders to shut the book, looking pissy as per usual.]

I highly doubt someone your age would understand the works of Voltaire, anyway.
