Favorite Bit of Writing Advice:
You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children. ~ Madeline L'Engle
Random Info About Me:
I am a morning person, and love it. When under stress, I tend to brew copious amounts of tea and bake a lot (actually, I brew copious amounts of tea in most situations). I love the smell of rain on earth. When I first met my husband we were both wearing plate armor. I love really hot baths (especially during the cold Maine winters). I am trying create an glorious cottage-style garden in my yard. I would love to visit Venice, Bruges, New Zealand, Istanbul and the Cotswolds, among other places. I play the fiddle (not particularly well!). My favorite musicals are Wicked and Into the Woods. I have a large collection of comic books, mostly X-Men, and I will go see any superhero movie that comes out. I love dogs, especially my border collie mix, Charlie.
FORTUNE'S FOLLY Synopsis:
Ever since her mother died and her father lost his shoemaking skills, Fortunata has survived by telling fake fortunes. Her sharp eye and inventive mind can create the most wonderful future for even the humblest farmer. But when she's tricked into telling a grand fortune for a prince, she is faced with the impossible task of making her wild prophecy come true-- or her father will be put to death.
Fortunata could kick herself. Why on earth did she decree that Prince Leonato has to secure a magic sword, vanquish a wicked witch, discover a long-lost golden shoe, and rescue the princess who fits it? Fortunata has never believed in fairy tales, yet now she must make one come true. If only she hadn't fallen in love with the prince herself!
