RACE: Human
AGE: Mid-to-Late 20s (his age is never explicitly stated within the text, save for that he is the youngest of the Lannister children)
CANON POINT: At the end of Book Three: A Storm of Swords, after his escape from the dungeons of King's Landing
REFERENCES: His wiki page (contains spoilers)
GENDER: Male

APPEARANCE:

When Tyrion Lannister was born, it was said that Lord Tywin's wife had given birth to a monster; an omen foretelling the fate of the realm. There were whispers around Casterly Rock saying he had the curly tail of a swine and a monstrously huge head with a thick black beard and an evil eye. Instead, much to the disappointment of others, he was just a squalling pink baby with stunted legs.

Tyrion is not one considered to be easy on the eyes. He was born with achondroplasia, or dwarfism, and carries himself on stunted legs with two mismatched eyes and a scarred face. He has a full head of golden Lannister hair, but a chunk of his nose had been removed during the Battle of the Blackwater, leaving him even more "disfigured" than before. He does carry himself with a certain air, of course, being the son of Lord Tywin Lannister of Casterly Rock, twice Hand of the King. What he lacks in looks, he makes up for in wits, and though he hates what people call him, he wears it like a protective cloak and shield.

PERSONALITY & HOUSE REQUESTS:

Tyrion is a Lannister of Casterly Rock, known for their wealth, good looks, and skill in battle. And while Tyrion is indeed endowed with more gold than he could ever make use of in his entire life, he is considerably lacking in the typical traits of the Lannisters, something that his father holds in great contempt. What he lacks as a tactician and swordsman, he makes up for in wits, knowledge, and a quick tongue. He works twice as hard to make up his inability with a sword, and wields his mind like a weapon instead. His head is filled to the brim with knowledge and books.

He is quite shrewd, but what he lacks in height in strength, he makes up for in strength of character. He is many things, if not witty, sharp, and thoughtful. If he were born into the life of a Peasant, he would have likely been thrown out onto the streets and left to die, but he was born a Lannister of Casterly Rock. Of course, it hasn’t been an easy life for him, especially considering his status as a dwarf (“All dwarves are bastards in their fathers eyes.”). Years of being ostracized and ridiculed have hardened him, and he’s seen and heard it all. And while the cruel japes still get to him, he’s learned to wear his insecurities like armor so that no one can use it to hurt him.

Tyrion is in no way a “bad guy,” but neither is he a good one as well. He falls into a moral grey area where he cannot be defined in terms of “good” or “evil,” and while he tries hard not to be like his father, he also tries to earn his respect and recognition as well. He’s good to his friends and those he considers his allies. He’s protective of his brother Jamie, whom he had never lost hope for (even when his father had), and he can be just and kind when he needs to be. In the case of Sansa Stark, he saved her from a beating from Joffrey and tried to be a god husband to her during their brief marriage (though they are still technically married). He tried to do right by her, though the odds were against him, but he couldn’t break her shield to let her know that he wasn’t of the same breed of Lannister that Cersei and Joffrey were. He attempted to meet the Starks hostage negotiations, though they never could reach a common ground. He rewards those who are good to him, and those who are loyal; and even to the sellsword Bronn he would match whatever those working against him were paying, and would pay him double. It never hurts to be on the good side of a Lannister.

But to cross someone like Tyrion Lannister, well… A Lannister always pays his debts, not only to those whom he owes favors, but to those who earn their just desserts. Tyrion knows exactly what he wants and has a general idea of how to get it. In the game of thrones, he is not a piece, but a player; an adjustment he makes during his time spent as the Hando of the King (to King Joffrey). In order to undo all of Cersei’s doings and attempt to right the wrongs of the kingdom, he learns how to maneuver and manipulate others in order to get things the way he wants them. He has a minstril killed for no less than filling Shae’s head with pretty little images (and, of course, to protect his secret). He threatens Cersei and Joffrey, his own blood, openly, believing himself to be backed by enough power to keep himself safe. But when he’s not looking, the tables were turned on him and the power dynamics shifted when Tywin takes his place as Hand of the King and overrides all of his decisions. And to shut him up, he marries him off to Sansa Stark, if only to keep the Tyrells away from her, and to gain her inheritance of Winterfell (a marriage which he never consummated).

But he is a Lion of Lannister, and when he strikes, he goes for the jugular.

If there was anything he never tried to betray, it was his family, but none of them could do right by him. Even Jamie, the one member of the family who treated him with respect, revealed himself to be more of a tool than Tyrion would have liked to believe. He openly lied to Jamie in telling him that it was him who killed Joffrey, if only to further hurt him. After his imprisonment in the Red Keep, he even shot his own father for no less than calling his first wife, Tysha, a whore. And considering Cersei was the one who had him imprisoned falsely for killing her son, King Joffrey, in the first place, he has no love for her as well. What had once meant much to Tyrion now means absolutely nothing (but bitterness, empty feelings, the taste of bile in his mouth).

His time spent in the Red Keep, paying for a crime he did not commit, has left him bitter. Waiting in the darkness with nothing but his mind to occupy him, he could only dwell on the trials, and the countless people whom he had done nothing to stepping forward and convicting him of regicide. People he considered his allies turned on him, and those he loved betrayed him. Even Shae pointed at him and cried “kinslayer,” a lie he could never forgive (golden hands wrapped around her flawless throat). It is with these bitter feelings that he escaped King’s Landing with and truly, his journey could only get worse from there. But the wounds are still fresh, and a distraction from the woes of Westeros would clearly be a welcome one.

To everyone else in the seven kingdoms, he is just Tyrion the Imp, known for his sexual exploits and his drinking habits, oblivious to everything he’s done and everything he hasn’t. He is no Joffrey. He is no Jamie. And he is certainly no Tywin. When not bogged down with the problems of the realm, Tyrion is a man who takes pleasures in the little things in life; a bellyful of ale and a whore’s mouth around his cock. He has a great sense of humor and a very easygoing personality that helps gain the trust and compaionship of others (like the sellsword Bronn and the wild men of the Vale). But he is, above all else, a scholar of swords, and a man of the written word. And countless hours and sleepless nights have been dedicated to reading by candlelight, and furthering his knowledge; sharpening his mind.

It is these reasons that I believe he would be best suited for RAVENCLAW. There are traits of each house within him - a hidden bravery for Gryffondor, a loyalty for Hufflepuff, and a fierce cunning for Slytherin, but Tyrion is a bookworm at best, and his mind is as sharp as his tongue. He is an avid reader and is constantly feeding his brain with books, sharpening it like a whetstone sharpens a sword. In a battle of tongues, he always comes out on top, and he is one of the few in his family to value knowledge above all else. House Ravenclaw would be the perfect home for the knowledgable and shrewd Tyrion Lannister Of course, his wit and cunning has often led him down a darker road, which is why SLYTHERIN would be my second choice for Tyrion, because he is not afraid to do what he has to to come out on top, and knows how to play the game and bend the pieces to his will.

COMMUTER DETAILS: Untapped

POSITION: Professor of Charms: Intermediate Hexes & Jinxes

ORIENTATION:

Tyrion Lannister loves women, but more importantly, he loves bedding them. And women seem to love him as well, if only for his fat coin purse (a sad tale indeed). He bears no shame in the hobbies he keeps, though his father Lord Twyin does, but it is unlikely that he would ever lie with another man. He does not, however, force himself upon women who are not willing, and doesn't consider himself disgraceful in his habits as well. He did cease visiting the prostitutes of King's Landing when he came upon Shae, but that didn't end as well as he had hoped it would...

ABILITIES & POWERS:

Tyrion has no special abilities with any kind of weapon, but he does have a sharp mind and a quick tongue. He is a man of wits, and a battle of such is the perfect playing field. He is very easygoing, or at least presents himself that way, and in that, he has an easy time gaining the trust and loyalty of others (in most cases, anyway). He can read and write - a skill which is highly valued in Westeros - but his skill with a blade is lacking.

At Hogwarts, he is a professor of varying skill, but is more adept at charms. He isn't quick on his feet, but he is with his mind, and that well-rounded knowledge would help him become quite the powerful wizard (in its own sense). The power and control he has over his mind would easily translate to the wizarding world; his weapon has always been his mind, and channeling that into a wand wouldn't be something he would have any problem with it. In fact, he would/will be quite taken with magic. Of course, with great power comes great responsibility, and considering he's been powerless to others his entire life, he is someone who would both revere and respect his new-found power, treating it with caution and using it wisely.

WAND: Cedar & Dragon heartstring, 12", sturdy, good for charms & transfiguration

A cedar wands seek out those with strength of character, unusual loyalty, and perception; three qualities that best describe Tyrion. His mind is sharp, he always has his wits about him, and he is also loyal, maybe even to a fault. And though he has little skill with a blade, when crossed he makes a terrifying adversary. And while dragon heartstring has a tendency to lean toward the darker arts, it is also a very powerful wand core that binds fiercely with those it believes to be worthy of its power (though it is also unstable and can change its allegiance).

MISC.: Fuck you Peeves.

WRITING SAMPLESFIRST PERSON:

[ There is a video feed on, but as expected, it's pointing at absolutely nothing in particular. The camera work is a bit shoddy as the thing seems to be moved around, turning over in someone's hands as they attempt to puzzle it out. That someone, of course, being Tyrion Lannister. He had no idea what a computer was, nor a personal computer either. In a world where everything was done by candle/torchlight with a quill and ink on parchment, this idea of technology was both interesting and confounding. And it would take him quote some time to get used to it. ]

I had heard from a student that this contraption could make "video posts." [ He seems to be choosing his words carefully as the camera finally lands on his face, though not because he had the intention of recording it. More so along the lines because he's staring at the front of the communicator. ]

I'm more partial to a quill myself, but the idea of...recording oneself and being able to play it back is completely fascinating.

[ It's a wonder he hasn't broken it yet. ]

If I were any less educated, I'd chalk it up to a magic mirror. [ He laughs quietly to himself. ] But I suppose that would explain these "broadcasts" from around the school. Though I suppose everything can also be attributed to something magical where this institution is concerned...

A truly bewitching object. [ One that he turns over in his hands again. He sets it down on his desk when something breaks in the room (his office). Arguing can be heard off-camera (something about Putrid, maybe even the word Imp, and a very annoying laugh), before the commuter finally idles and cuts the feed. ]

THIRD PERSON:

Magical wasn't the word he would have liked to describe it, but he supposed, in all ironies, that it was the best word he could think of. Maybe fantastical would be better, extraordinary even, but magical, as plain and simple and silly as it was, fit the bill quite perfectly. After all, one did not carry a wand around for such simple purposes as pointing it at things, and though he had thought spells to be mere illusions at first, he was now thoroughly convinced that magic was indeed real.

And there he was, teaching magic at school for witchcraft and wizardry.

There he was Professor Tyrion Lannister. Not titles or prestige from great Houses, just the simple rank of student, professor, and, of course, Headmaster. It was a hierarchy of skill and status; one he found to be both amusing and perplexing. But there he wasn't Tyrion son of Tywin of House Lannister. There he was a professor of Charms, hexes and jinxes, of House Ravenclaw. The same name, a new identity; where he wasn't known for his wealth, or even as the Imp. Where he was known and recognized for his brain.

He didn't consider himself to be someone who ran from his problems, but he also supposed that this was a lot like starting over. Given a second chance, even, in its own strange way. And if he was truly "stuck" there, then making the best of it was his only option. And one he would take full advantage of.

He twirled his wand between his fingers as he allowed himself to smile. It felt large and ungainly in his hands, probably more suitable for someone who was...larger. But they said the wanted picked the owner, so he supposed he should have taken its size as a compliment, rather than a gross overcompensation (though he laughed at the thought, as he was not lacking in some areas). He tapped the tip of it twice on a desk as he walked down the aisles and allowed his smile to morph into a grin.

"Good morning class, I am Professor Tyrion Lannister, and I will be teaching you all about hexing."
