!!MOD NOTE: The Auction Is Over!

May 24, 2010 00:03

Thank you, everyone, for your incredible generosity! When we started debsliverlovers, we hoped to be able to cover at least Deb's brother's plane fare, and had $10,000 as our pie-in-the-sky hope. Given the activity here in the past couple of days, added to the numbers I ran last week, and an utterly stunning behind-the-scenes anonymous donation, I am relatively ( Read more... )

It was a magnificent auction -and you ran it brilliantly. Thank you for your time, compassion, energy and grace.

One question, now, as I go over final bids on my stuff: What's the proper timestamp for the auction's close? Is it
2010-05-24 04:00 am (UTC) ?

I had one bid come in at 04:03am -- should that disqualify it, or does it just get written off to the variables of LJ/internet?

Let's assume the variables of LJ -- I posted the closure announcement a little late, and it looks like that bid occurred at the same time as I posted the closure announcement.

I have some auctions I'm managing where the time listed is "local" and I have no idea if it's my local time or their local time or how it sits with the auction local time. I suspect, STRONGLY, that these came in after the auction close, as I went to best after midnight EST and didn't see the emails until this morning, but knowing the vagaries of LJ, I like to be sure. Guidance?

Just went and commented to one of your bidders, will check your other auctions, since my LJ settings are UTC, which is what HC and Ellen are using here!

In one of those weird synchronicity things, someone just posted on a FB friend's page:

"The ones among us surviving these dark times are the ones who are unafraid of interdependence. We need one another. Every day I am grateful for the network of arms holding me up. And I hope that I'm helping to hold up others."

Amen, brother.

I just want to make sure I pay the right way to avoid recipient fees with PayPal. Should I use "Personal" tab since "Purchase" incurs fees no matter how you pay, or does it not matter since Woman Earth and Spirit is a non-profit?

I believe the standard is to choose "Personal" and "Gift".

Eep. I sent payment, but forgot to add the note about what it's for. Yikes! What shall I do?

Are you worried about WE&S/Estrogeneration knowing that it's for Deb? If so, just drop Jae a note at JaeHaggard AT gmail DOT com and let her know that it's for Deb's liver.
