Pretty Things

So one of the fun things I did in Green Bay was a fashion show.  As in I was a model in a fashion show.  Now once you pull your jaw off the ground I'll give you the scoop.  Last year at Weetacon, Yuliya Raquel of IGIGI provided dresses for some of the ladies to review.  I must have slept through that email because I totally missed out.  I got lucky though, and the offer was repeated this year.  There were 2 twists - first was the fashion show for our little group complete with our own MC extraordinaire Jake and photos by Jorie, and second there wasn't just one item per lady there were 2 or 3!  (Man it was a total Oprah moment, I thought Jessie would faint she was so excited.)

Now for my choices I had selected tops based on my fear of having an insufficient bust to hip ratio for the dresses.  And the tops I got I love.  But having seen all our ladies modeling the dresses I realize that was a silly fear.  I'll definitely be checking out their dress selection more closely.

So here's my first item Elianne in Purple Magic:

Pretty, eh.  Also very comfy.  Here get a little closer so you can see the details ...

Yep different shot because I threw on a sweater (my office is freezing) and wore this top to work the very next week.  It's amazingly comfortable, moves well and stays sharp and unwrinkled due to the fabric blend.

For my second piece I wore Epiphany in Magenta:

Now I have to admit I don't love most of the pictures of me in this top from the fashion show but it's more a reflection of me than the top.  The selected foundation garments were less than optimal and the skirt gave me a series of lumps and rolls.  The photos just reflect that, and the fact that I changed in the stairwell without the benefit of a mirror just exacerbated it.  But the above pic from before the show is not horrid.  And hopefully Jorie will forgive me that I took a crop to show some detail (with a bit less of the lumpies) from one of her shots.  Here:

I've already worn this again as well, to a nice birthday dinner for the Best Babe at Ruth's Chris.

So to recap 2 beautiful tops that fit well, move well and are very comfortable.  One slight downside - dryclean only, not much in my life is dryclean only but seriously would you trust that pretty detail in a washer with the kids sweatpants?  One note: the Igigi site has a size chart, do yourself a favor grab a tape measure and follow the chart.  These tops are in a size I would never pick had I not followed the chart, but they fit comfortably.  The red tape ... since I was gifted with these tops in exchange for a review you have to call it compensated.

And lastly, the really fun part...  As if gifting us with beautiful clothing wasn't enough Igigi is giving me and the other reviewers the opportunity to gift one lucky commenter with a $50 IGIGI by Yuliya Raquel gift certificate!  Just go to the Igigi website, pick out the item you'd buy and tell me where you would wear it.  The only restriction is that you live somewhere they ship.  The winner will be selected by random number - generated by asking my son to pick a number between 1 and however many comments I get by April 7th.  Trust me you can't get any more random than a teenager.

Also check out the other ladies in their finery as well (you can enter to win there too!)
(Review write up is in progress, so as they are complete the links will show up.)

Hey Folks, just as a reminder if you are not a signed in LiveJournal user be sure to put a name in your comments so I can find you again if you win!

weetacon, igigi
