More Snow

I live in a town where it basically doesn't snow - 4 days of it in 25 years ... so look at the view out of my bedroom window, this morning!

Your street is very narrow. Is it a one way street?

At least, it isn't deep snow. Is cold enough that it will stay this way or will it be gone quickly?

This is about the amount of snow we get in TX when it does snow. Then by afternoon, it's all messy and melted. If the night is cold then it freezes over again as ice for us. Make the roads slippery and dangerous. We don't really have the equipment to grit the streets. We only have trucks that spread sand about, but it does little other than make a mess.

Glad you didn't hurt yourself any worse. Will it beg you off cooking or anything for the holidays?

Most towns have streets like this - my brother Tim is the same in Exeter - built in the 30's, before cars were popular ther roads are wide enough for traffic both ways - nowadays we park cars and drive on the other side - it tends to usually have cars going down the road, as I live ain a block of 4 roads, so we have an unofficial one-way system!

Snow is till the same in my back garden - but the road is mostly thawed - it helps that it has now been partially gritted.

I'm hoping my wrist will be better by the time i go back to Mum & Dad's - otherwise I will also get an "ear-bashing" from Mum on my carelessness!! !!

I'm sorry to hear about your wrist. Hope you are ok. The snow looks pretty in pictures and in the movies but I hate it in real life. I am so glad that we don't get much of it here.

I feel bad that you have to get so much of it over where you live.

Thanks Tommy - yes, I love the look of the snow - it makes even a dull place look stunning - but can be so dangerous. My wrist is now bandaged, so is feeling more comfortable.

Where I live is easy compared with other parts of my country. Sadly, as we aren't used to it, we find it hard to cope ... Northern Europe have snow chains for cars etc.

It's all a bit random and localised isn't it! They keep forecasting snow showers here, but so far haven't had anything and the snow/ice in my road is finally melting now.

Which of course means I could be snowed in tomorrow!!

Keep warm!

It is certainly weirs - we have heard how your part of the world was suffering! Tim, in Exeter can't move his car - which seems mad for South Devon.

Keep warm & safe.

This is proving to be quite the Wintery Winter in your part of the world.

Keep warm.

Yes, it's weird how we are getting these bad conditions - although, must admit my part of England hasn't suffered as bad as some parts of the country.
