US politics are like that too sadly. Rather than being up bring themselves up, they're all about knocking the other guy down. I find it sad and annoying also. :(

I find it sad that I can't then make a choice based on their thoughts - but also "childish" that they just slag off the others!

Yeah, it's speculation and downright nasty what they do on those. I'm with you on this, I just don't like it.

Oh dear....another import from the USA I think! Our campaigns have run this way for several years now and it tends to work (mores the shame)...few bother to check facts or even care about the truth. The smear tactics deflect from the fact that no ideas are being presented. You have my sincere sympathy!

PS it has the term Rovian here (for Karl Rove the "genius" behind such campaigning).

Yes - it neither shows their own policies, nor plans ... just speculates on the other party.

I hate the lack of integrity that the group shows in doing this, as well.

Hadn't realised it had a name though!

Yes, I suppose I can't moan we get 2 elections every 4 years, and they are only campaogning for about a month each.

Every four years we suffer though all the mud slinging of the different presidential candidates. The only bright spot for me is Sat. Night Live political skits. Sarah Palin was good for many funny moments this last year.

I really steer clear of the in-depth arguments, this just annoyed me as it came from the wrong point-of-view IMHO
