I'm up to Year of Hell in my rewatch. This is another episode that I've never seen (neither part) though of course I've heard a lot about it. It's very clear how alone Janeway is here. I think in some ways she makes her own life harder than it has to be.

I really must get focussed on re-watch ... Voyager & BtVS.

Yes, the Captain really kept herself far more seperate than she need - both from Chakotay, as well as B'Elanna ... they would both have been so supportive of her.
