My father-in-law who navigated Lancasters. My grandfather who built tanks. My other grandfather, in the RFC. My mother's cousin who died in Burma. My friend who fought in the Falklands.
All the millions of men, women and children who have died across the world because leaders saw their vanity as more important than people.
My Mum was still at school for much of the war, but where she was there were half a dozen American airdromes ... but a couple of friends from Church were on Lancasters, as well
So much pain and suffering caused by so much greed ... and sadly we haven't leant the lessons.
