It's a good meme for us Brits isn't it! I like the sound of golden syrup on crumpets, I wonder if black treacle would be nice (I love black treacle!)

This one is as much fun as the American one, but I don't understand half the questions of this one either! (OK, less than half, but you'll get what I mean.) I guessed that a greasy spoon might be a snackbar or a pub, and I'm guessing from your answer that it's the former -- still not entirely sure though. (What do they sell if it's not chips?)

Yes, a Greasy Spoon is a small local cafe ... most of those are now fish & chip shops, or Chinese take-aways ... or like mine, a combination of both.
