Well, there goes my good mood for the day.

NYTimes, the bastion of quality reporting, reported on the gang-rape of an 11 year-old girl in Texas  that's led to charges against 18 high-school boys so far - all well and good so far, right?  Shit like this NEEDS publicity to raise awareness.

I was disgusted and severely disappointed when I read this a few days ago. Seriously, placing the blame on the victim rather than the assailants.... :/

It's unfair, and like many others said, rape is never asked for.

jfc, this is disgusting.
Rapists do not need invitations people. Even if the girl was walking naked down the roads everyday, that doesn't give a right to no one to jump on her. You'd think default things should not have to be pointed out anymore, but guess not.

the fact that this is happening in Texas doesn't surprise me in the least.

no offence to anyone who lives there, but from what understand that is a very Male Dominated state.

so the fact they are defending the "18 Year Old 'Male' Rapist", while saying it was the "11 Year Old 'Female' Victims" fault doesn't surprise me in the least, no matter how disgusting it is.

as for the "These boys have to live with this the rest of their lives." part

Would would certainly hope they do. It was their choice to do that nasty shit, they Should have to live with the consequences.
