We are going to have a new (to us) car tomorrow! Thank you, efbq; you are officially the best mother-in-law ever.
It's a Saturn. It gets good gas mileage. It drives well. It's newer than Corvy - a 2003, whereas Corvy was a 2001. It's a good deal. Not a fabulous amazing deal, but a solidly good deal. papertigers likes the way it drives, which is important. We both like that it's in such good working order - no engine noise, etc. There are a few cosmetic problems inside the car, and the glove box will not open (its handle is broken completely off), but we can deal with those things. The important things are all right.
Also, it has side airbags, which Corvy lacked. I'm hoping this means we will get a lower insurance rate.
