Hard Winter

I'm beginning to think this winter really is the winter of 1880-81. We're expecting another big storm tomorrow - perhaps 10-14 inches of snow on top of the 2 1/2 feet that we got this weekend. I love snow, but I'm good and sick of being stuck in it. It's beginning to depress me. I'm trying hard, I really am, but I'd love to be able to be gloomy ( Read more... )

I don't suppose you would share the way you made the snow candy, would you? I've got molasses and sugar, but I don't know what proportions, how long to boil or any of that.

And? I am STIR-CRAZY! I need to find something fun to do with this snow or go MAD! :)

My way was super easy. I poured a few tablespoons of molasses into a plastic bowl, added a moderate hunk of brown sugar, microwaved for 20-30 seconds, stirred, microwaved for another 15 seconds, et voila, bonbons!

P.S. I think after this storm I am going to go out with some sand castle molds, build a snow castle, and use food coloring to dye it in pretty colors.
