Episode bliss and 'help me, I'm a little lost...'

Jan 31, 2013 18:44

Okay, I posted last night, asking for reassurance because I have been trying so hard to preserve my love for this damn show, despite season 8's dogged persistence in persuading me otherwise....I only want to watch episodes that I will love. Or like an awful lot ( Read more... )

Kevin has part of a tablet (hunk of rock) that tells how to seal Hell and the demons in it. He is trying to translate it, but Crowley has the other part. There is also an angel tablet that tells everything about angels. We don't know where that is yet, or maybe we do but don't know it. That key thing. Cas is mostly going around trying to do good and make up for the bad he did. BUT, there is angel interference. They are somehow mind controlling Cas. We don't know what their endgame is yet. Not sure if this is more confusing but maybe it will help. m :)

Thank you! Now, I really don't feel like I missed all that much.

Not much of an angel girl here! :)

I can add a little to what mdlaw has said.

God is still MIA. Naomi is a sort of head-honcho angel who has been forcing Cas to report to her re. the Winchesters business, but then she brainwipes him afterwards so he doesn't know he's spying, but that control is starting to slip. He comes and goes like a stray cat.

I HIGHLY recommend the LARP episode, if you haven't watched it yet. It's very sweet, and doesn't beat you over the head with shit that happened in the first half of the season.

It does feel like they're getting back to what drew us into the show in the first place. :D

I LOVE "he comes and goes like a stray cat." SOOOO true and so funny.

I did watch the LARP episode, which I loved, but I loved this one more. It just felt like the show that made me fall in love. I have no idea about any future eps, so don't know if all my hopes will be dashed again. I wonder who the writer was for this last one.

Adam Glass wrote "As Time Goes By." I won't spoil anything but the next episode looks FABULOUS too!

I just watched it. That "Sammy" at the end just killed me.

I really, really don't understand the need for the first dozen or so episodes, but this feels so much more like my beloved Season 2 - full of awe and wonder and dread. Amazing!

I have no doubt that Carver has a grand plan; he plans to go for 10 seasons, if he can get them ( ... )

Omg, I had been seeing the name "Samandriel" and thought it was a really dumb name for Sam(antha)/Castiel and was like it's like a genderbending thing....oh, whatever. No wonder I was confused!

I'm seriously amused. What kind of angel name is Samandriel?

I am seriously so done with angel arcs. I just don't get the appeal.

But yes, Men of Letters is an awesome idea! I really hope that becomes the show's new breath of life because it has so much promise. The Family Business, you know?

I know. One thing I can't understand about their naming is that some have names that are actually angel names like Gabriel, Castiel, Uriel and now Samandriel (though you may find it funny to know that the brother's call him Alfie, because of how he was dressed). And then they also have names such as Rachel, Virgil and Naomi... Urgh ( ... )

I just saw the preview clip for next week episode and it made squee out loud, sweetie. I am so, so excited about the story potential for all of this. :)

All the Sammy's we've been getting have had me grinning like a crazy thing. :)

Episode 12 is seriously THEE BEST. It ties up an old loose end from season 1-2. Episode 12 you can watch alone because there isn't really any season 8 based knowledge you need, just basically 1-4.
