Being heavy most of my life I have this trouble with feeling like things will hold me, that I will be safe in certain situations, that things won't break under my weight and plunge me to my death, or simply embarass me.  I was at Magic Mountain, an amusement park with roller coasters, and there is a coaster called Tatsu.  The coaster starts with ( Read more... )

That's part of my problem with roller coasters. I can fit on the rides....but the restraints don't always seem secure to me. The chest/shoulder harnesses feel like they're going to pop open and I won't ride anything that only has a lap bar. Part of it is my boobs, but I'm overweight too which definately has part to do with it.

I worry about the same stuff. Mostly I refuse to sit in chairs that don't seem strong. Forget those plastics things. A few years back at Casey's birthday party, I was sitting there talking to my friend's boyfriend (who I hated) and my chair broke and I fell to the floor. It was so humiliating, especially to happen in front of someone I disliked. Ever since then I'm really careful about what I sit on. As for coasters, lately I don't want to even try to ride the ones with the shoulder restraints because I worry I won't fit and I'll be embarrassed. So for me it's less worry about my safety and more worry about public humiliation.

Also, good for you on the weight loss!

Pssst. Where've you been? Everything okay? You and Chris both have kind of disappeared lately, so I thought I'd check in. Are you guys still thinking about coming to visit this year?
