There is a chance that sites hosted in Russia won't be accessible from outside Russia at some point in the near future. LiveJournal is hosted in Russia. Not in Russia: me, and probably a lot of other DTCL members ( Read more... )

Good idea/thinking and helpful, thank you.

I'll all for preserving information ... it would be sad if all that HP fandom history was lost.

I'd love to back it up, I'm working on it currently thanks to gingerbred's tuition. I'm currently on dw under 'merrymelody', feel free to message me here or there. Thank you for backing up what you can with the archive!

Awesome, thank you!

I'll see if I can get a bit more with the Wayback Machine. I'm in a place with not-great internet this weekend but I bet I can save a few more pages.

Eh, I don't publish anything nowadays, but you can find me on both AO3 and Dreamwidth as Chantal Dormand.

It's just a shame that comments on entries in this community can't be imported. It's like 60% of DTCL's charm :/

I just checked and the comments on some older entries have imported to Dreamwidth. Maybe that part is just taking longer. It is a lot of comments!

Looks like the comments up through about September 2011 are there? It doesn't seem to have changed in a few hours, but I don't know what's happening on the back end.

Yes, save it all, please! Every once in a while I like to go back and read the old ones, including the comments, and I absolutely don't want DTCL to die out in the future.
