Thank you! This is one of those very irritating myths. People got much dirtier after the Black Death than they were beforehand. To oneandthetruth - sorry, your idea won't wash! Pun intended.

The fact that Muggles were not really that dirty wouldn't stop a bigoted Pureblood from dismissing them as dirty.
