Nanao continued to watch the pair, making observations about their actions and words.
It didn't to her much good since all she could do when Rangiku looked at her was shrug her shoulders a little. That caused her to give her a mental kick since she was sure she should know these things. She kept both ears on the Quincy just in case the young man would actually let them know what exactly that glove meant.
And of course, he didn't.
She allowed herself to gloss over that for now, since she could answer the question about the message. It wasn't going to shed any light on anything though. Her answer was a very simple 'no'. "No, I don't. I was hoping I could find and answer to that question myself, but I guess there is no way of knowing until we meet up with someone that was there or might be with Unohana-taicho's body now."
Rangiku sighed, feeling useless at the moment.
Suddenly she felt as if the entire city had dropped a few degrees as a shudder spiraled up her spin. She turned her head in the direction of the chilling reiatsu surrounded by three other shinigami. Closing her eyes she, inhaled quietly and said a silent blessing. "No. But It doesn't look like that matters at the moment." Turning to Nanao, she cast her a empathetic look. "Seems like your captain, Konmamura, and Renji are with Adaro right now." She felt the need to be there as well, join the fight, avenge Unohana, but she knew it would only mean her death if she went. The only thing she could do now protect those who would be caught in the crossfire.
A slow shaky breath passed over the Quincy's lips as he felt the rip in the world as Adaro made her appearance across town. She came alone, so it was very easy to pinpoint her presence. He felt a strong urge to separate from these two and go across town and join the fight. This was what he had been doing all afternoon since receiving the message. Waiting, waiting for some second shoe to drop, waiting for a new threat to attack the city as the arrancar celebrated their victory.
But he stayed where he sat. Though he'd known Unohana, this was right now very much a shinigami fight against Adaro. Their chance for action and revenge against the arrancar force's leader.
His fingers touched softly on the palm of his gloved hand, feeling the tension build in the glove. Though they were far away, three shinigami out of gigai and Adaro put out a high amount of reiatsu into the air. He'd been one of the first to fight her... He knew her strength. And he knew his own.
And if he were to join the fight against her, he knew what he'd have to do to fully make a stand against her.
"She came alone...?" Ishida murmured softly, turning his head toward the direction where the battle was taking place. "She must be feeling quite haughty right now. It could lead to mistakes. Hopefully it will, to cover any mistakes made by grieving, enraged fighters."
She only spared a glance at Rangiku before her head turned toward her captain. As though she was working on auto pilot, Nanao's right hand went toward her hip for the zanpakuto that wasn't there. She felt the need to be with them since her captain was there, but she had a nagging feeling that he wouldn't enjoy seeing her show up and ultimately getting in his way. Besides, he was a strong fighter and he, with the help of Komamura and Renji, wouldn't let Adaro get away.
Her legs were still itching to go as she dropped her hand back down to her side. Adaro. What was it like to go up against the leader of the Arrancar? It was something she wondered if she would ever be able to do. Of course she would fight without hesitation, but how far could she make it? The question kept returning, running in short circles around her, stirring up doubt about her abilities. This wasn't the first time she had this feeling, only this needed to be the end. It had to change if she planned on living to see them take back Soul Society.
"They know they should keep their emotion out of the battle," Nanao said, even though that was something that would be hard to do. "We cannot afford anymore...mistakes."
